The ISO organization has recently reviewed the revised standard from 2015 and concluded that it is standing strong.
ISO 9001, the standard for quality management, is used by millions of companies worldwide. The standard was revised and was updated in 2015. This is the version of ISO 9001 that is valid and in use now.
ISO 9001 is reviewed through a systematic review every five years. This is done to ensure that the standard remains globally relevant and meets users’ needs.
The review consists of discussions in the committee for the standard and with the help of surveys among users.
The result of this year’s review was that no revision was necessary. The latest version of ISO 9001 still provides as much value to those who implement the standard as it did when it was last updated in 2015.
